Diving into the TBR stacks

Are there some authors who perpetually hang out on your TBR list? Not because there’s anything wrong with their books, but just because there are so many. I have a few I’ve been meaning to get back to for *ahem* some time now and I need a little push to get me to actually do it. So here I am, committing to reading the following books by the following authors sometime this year.  We’ll see how this project unfolds!

An Earthly Crown by Kate Elliott

Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb

Midnight Robber by Nalo Hopkinson

The Sleeping Life by Andrea K Höst

The Lost Steersman by Rosemary Kirstein

Half-Resurrection Blues by DJ Older

The Icarus Girl by Helen Oyeyemi

Vicious by Victoria Schwab

Blood Spirits by Sherwood Smith

By Maureen LaFerney

My name is Maureen. I currently work as a library assistant in a public library in the Indianapolis area, and also just so happen to be a voracious reader. I frequently end up under a cat.

LIKE YOURS, mine are largely fantasy, but for me that’s because fantasy requires a level of focused attention I don’t always have available! (The one that comes to mind immediately is NK Jemisin.)

Good luck!

That makes sense! I like how both of ours are lots of fantasy, but for basically opposite reasons.

I haven’t heard of Blood Spirits … looking up now … oh! I can’t even remember if I’ve read Coronets and Steel, but it looks fun! Now you’ve added two more to my TBR.

Any word on when the next Steerswoman book might be out? I quickly checked her blog, and there aren’t any exciting announcements, but she does say she’s still writing them, so that’s good!

Oh nice! I love this idea! There are plenty of books that have been hanging out on my TBR list for a number of years now. My official policy is that every time I go to the library, I look for at least one book from the tippety top of my TBR list. In practice this is — still a pretty slow way of whittling down the TBR. But it’s what I’m doing, and I’m sticking to it! :p
