I was off in Chicago all weekend, attending the Chicago Maritime Festival with Housemate S. We stayed with a family we knew up there and met up with a friend of mine from Oregon, who happened to be visiting someone else. Along the way I ate delicious Middle Eastern food, drove in Chicago and didn’t die, drove through blinding rain and didn’t die, and had a very nice time at the festival. I think the music was the highlight for me–and there was a lot of it! There was an interesting mix of people as well, with some obviously actually involved in various maritime stuff and others just dabblers. It didn’t particularly seem to matter.
Anyway, we got back late last night and I’ve spent the day recovering and catching up a bit on my to-do list. I have a job interview tomorrow (eeeek).
Which is all to say that I don’t think I’ll be getting a review up tonight. I’ve been really bad about this lately, but life is life and sometimes it just doesn’t happen. I will be getting the list of February books ready to go up tomorrow, so I suppose that’s something.
And then I’ll curl up and read something else.
